On Eid-e-Ghadir-e-Khum 1423H, 19th February 2003, after Ghadeer
namaaz, Syedi Mazoon Saheb TUS delivered waaz mubarak in Al-Masjid
Al-Badri in Chicago, USA. In the bayaan Mazoon Mola ascertained
the fact that out of the billions of human beings on earth,
we mumineen are special because contrary to others whose life
is limited to this world, we mumineen are the only ones who
will enjoy eternal life in Aakherat-in jannat. He then went
on to identify the only way to achieve this eternal life:
Misaq. We enter the dawat of Imam uz zaman by giving misaq
to his Dai, Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin TUS. Dawat is ‘jannat
bil quwwat’ (jannat in spirit) which leads when mumin
dies to ‘jannat bil fe’al’ (jannat in reality,
the True jannat). Syedi Mazoon Saheb emphasized that we are
entering Imam uz Zaman’s dawat and that Imam uz Zaman
is wajeb ul wujood, his presence on earth is compulsory. To
describe the certainty of the presence of Tyeb Imam’s
son on the face of the earth, Mazoon Mola gave a practical
example. He said that we know that yesterday was Tuesday,
today is Wednesday and tomorrow Thursday will come. Similarly,
with the same certainty we know that there was an imam, when
he died his son is now the imam and certainly when he passes
his son will become imam uz zaman.
Mazoon Mola continued emphasizing the importance of misaq,
and the meaning of saying “na’am” during
the recitation of the misaq. Mazoon Mola said that the misaq
is like the constitution of Dawat, without which one cannot
be said to be a mumin. Mazoon Mola likened the process of
giving misaq to the process of gaining citizenship of a country;
for example, when you become an American citizen, you are
required to swear and oath to uphold the values of the American
constitution, and uphold the laws of the United States. Similarly,
Mazoon Mola said that when you say “na’am”
to the misaq, you are swearing an oath to Dawat, to uphold
its constitution (the misaq), and to obey all the laws of
Dawat, beginning with the seven da’im (pillars) of Islam.
Mazoon Mola also did bayan about in what state the misaq
should be given. The misaq should only be given when a boy
or a girl reaches a state of maturity where they are able
to understand the misaq, the laws of Dawat, and the consequences
of their decisions. The misaq must also be given freely, it
must not be given in a state of coercion. However, once the
misaq is given, there is no way to release oneself from the
oath that has been taken, and one is then bound to the terms
of the misaq. Mazoon Mola further elaborated the citizenship
analogy and said that when one gives the citizenship oath
he does so by his own free will; however once he takes the
oath he is committed to it. Similarly, one enters into misaq
by his free will, but once he has given misaq he has committed
him self to all the clauses of the misaq and must respect
them.
Mazoon Mola also did bayan about the shaan of Ghadir-e-Khum.
Mazoon Mola said that there are four Eids, three of which
are days of khushi, and one of which is a day of sadness.
The first of these is Eid-ul-Fitr, which immediately follows
the month of Ramadan. The second of these is Eid-al-Adha,
also called Eid-ul-Nahar, which occurs the day following Yawm-ul-Arafat,
when zabihat is offered. Thirdly, there is Eid-e-Ghadir-e-Khum,
the day in which Rasulullah SA conferred Nas onto Molana Ali
SA with the words “man kunto maulaho fahaza Ali un maulaho”.
Finally, the last Eid, a day of sadness is that of Yawm-al-Ashura;
on this note he rendered the shahadat of imam Husain AS in
a way that brought tears to mumineens’ eyes. Taking
Husain Imam’s wasila Syedi Mazoon Saheb did lots of
doa for mumineen, mumenaat and their children and especially
for the long and healthy life of Aqamaula Syedna Mohammed
Burhanuddin TUS. Syedi Mazoon Saheb also conveyed Aqamaula
TUS doa mubarak paigham (message) to all mumineen, mumenaat
and children of Chicago and did zikar of the shanaat and ehsanaat
of Huzuraala TUS through out the bayaan.
Returning to the zikar of Ghadeer, Syedi Mazoon Saheb said
that of all the four Eids, the day of Ghadir-e-Khum is the
most important, indeed the most important day of the year.
Mazoon Mola said that the namaaz that is prayed at zohr and
the roza are so important that if they are missed, one must
do the roza and even the namaz(walwanu). This shows the ‘fazal’
of Eid-e-Ghadeer because it is the only Eid in which if the
namaaz is missed it has to be prayed later (walwanu). Mazoon
Mola then related the riwayat of Imam Ja’farus Sadiq
AS, which is narrated by ‘Abdi’ on the roza and
namaaz in Eid e Ghadir-e-Khum, and their importance and sawaab.
If a person does roza in this day, he will gain the sawab
of doing roza till the end of the earth's life. Mazoon Mola
explained that this is because Rasullullah SA’s Nas
on Amirul Mumineen AS on Eid-e-Ghadeer personifies the act
of Nas, and that this Nas will continue in the progeny of
Rasulullah SA till the day of Qiyamat, the end of the world.
For the namaz one gets the sawab of one hundred thousand Hajj
and one hundred thousand Umra and Allah TA will fulfill all
his aspirations whether they are for dunya or Aakherat. Mazoon
Mola also spoke of the immense sawab of providing iftar for
those doing roza on this day. He said that for each person
that one provides iftari for, he gains the sawab of ten “fayaam”,
where one “fayaam” is 1 million people, so he
gains the sawab of providing iftari for 10 million people.
Mazoon Mola continued to say that the sawab gained was not
that of 10 million ordinary people, but that of 10 million
ambiya (prophets), awsiya (wasis) and saleheen.
Syedi Mazoon Saheb continually reminded mumineen that we
are fortunate to know (ma’refat) the importance and
meaning of this day because we have followed dua’t mutlaqeen.
It is the dua’t who have guided us to take barakaat
in this day. It is our khush nasibi that we are entering the
dawat of imam uz zaman by giving misaq to his dai, Syedna
Mohammad Burhanuddin TUS.
The waaz started as scheduled at 3.00pm and ended at 5.15pm.
Following the waaz, Mazoon Mola took the misaq of all the
mumineen present at the masjid. After maghrib isha namaaz
each and every mumin got the sharaf of giving safaqat on the
hands of Syedi Mazoon Saheb. After this, Chicago Jamaat did
araz of maqdam to Syedi Mazoon Saheb.
