Urus Mubarak of Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed (RA),
27th Jamadil Ukhra 1421h, 25th September 2000, Monday.
Urus mubarak majlis and wa'az of Syedna Qutbuddin Shahid (RA) took place at Husaini masjid, Bombay, after maghrib isha namaaz. Syedi Mazoon Saheb tus did noorani bayan, shahaadat of Imam Husain (SA) and Syedna Qutbuddin Shahid (RA), matam.
Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed Urus Waaz Highlights
All mumineen fortunate enough to attend the urus waaz of Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed at Husaini masjid Bombay were mesmerized and dazzled by the nurani shining bayan of Mazoon Mola tus. In three lightning fast hours, from 8pm to 11pm, Mazoon Mola tus gave a part of jannat's light to all those present. You are ghulamo of panjatan aimmat and doat, Mazoon Mola tus said, and it is only through these awliya that you will get najaat and be able to go to the realm of nur, which is jannat. In the Quraan there are two aayaat which convey the message that Allah ta'ala will always protect his nur, no matter how hard the kaafireen try to extinguish it, He will always protect it and make it complete. Syedna Taher Saifuddin did bayan that one of these aayat is masal on the Imam and the other on the Dai in the satr dawat. Syedna Nur Muhammad Nuruddin was one such Dai whose very name was Nur Muhammad. He was Allah ta'ala's nur, he was a portrait of nur, rather he was the surat al-nur in the Quraan. In that surat there is the aayat al-nur in which there is the part nurun ala nur. It is related that Imam Aamir bi Ahkamillah wrote a misaal, a letter to Molatuna Hurrat al-Malika in which he said that I have been blessed by Allah ta'ala with a son. This mubarak son is 'nurun min nur' he is a godly light which has emanated from another godly light, the Imam Aamir himself. But when the Imam Aamir carries this mubarak son on his mubarak hands, it is 'nurun ala nur' one godly light upon another. Similarly, Mazoon Mola tus said, Syedna Taher Saifuddin and his son and mansus Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin, are both 'nurun min nur' and 'nurun ala nur.'
The eyes, Mazoon Mola tus said, even though having most amazing powers of sight, cannot see without light. In a dark room a blind man and any other are equal in their lack of sight. Only the light emanating from the sun, if it penetrates the eyes, only then can they see the world. Similarly, the eyes of basirat, the eyes of the mind and heart and aqida, cannot see without light from the everlasting and ever-shining sun of Imamat, as Syedna Taher Saifuddin has said in his qasida on 'aql. This light is brought to mumineen in this period of satr when the sun of Imamat is not in our midst, through his Dai. It is only with this light that the eyes of the heart and the mind are able to see the truth, the haqq, and the one path there-from which leads to jannat. There are many who apparently have good sight, but they are, to all intents and purposes, blind, as they do not see the truth, and the true cause and purpose of their existence. They blindly stray in the valley of darkness. It is only the mumin who is able to see with his eyes of basirat, the eyes of his heart and mind, the truth, the haqq and its path.
Mazoon Mola tus said that in a sabaq to my farzando a few days ago, in the majaalis of Syednal Muayyad as-Shirazi was a very latif sublime zikar which has a great message, a great sabaq and hidayat for all mumineen should they listen to it and see it with the eyes and ears of their hearts and minds. Syednal Muayyad, whose barakat has forever been and is still and will always be evident in the Dawat of satr, in the Duat mutlaqeen and their 'ilm. "Min duatin qad ayyadathum sawari, barakatil muayyadis Shirazi," as Syedna Taher Saifuddin wrote. Syednal Muayyad said that when a child, a fetus, is still in the darkness and confines of its mothers womb, it has eyes, ears, hands and legs, but does not use them therefore does not realize their presence, does not realize the importance of them. It is only when it is born into the light and open space of this world does it realize it can see, it can hear, can use its hands and legs, which were all of them developed in the womb through the nourishment that it received. Similarly a human being in this world, which Rasulullah SLA said is the womb of the hereafter, does not realize the importance of acquiring eyes of basirat, nor the power and comprehension that accrue to the heart and soul because of them; a complete constitution for his heart and soul. He does not realize their use in the confines and darkness of this world, this dunya. He will only do so when he comes into the infinite light and space of the aakherat, jannat.
Think, that when a child is born into this world, and god forbid, has a defect in its formation, how deep is the feeling of hurt and sorrow. He will feel this handicap in his bodily function throughout life. Think then, that the aakherat is a much more sublime place, and any defect in the constitution, and powers and capabilities of the soul will be felt much more deeply there than anything that can be imagined here.
What are the eyes of basirat. They are the true aqida of a mumin, his mohabbat for panjatan aimmat and doat, his life, which he governs according to the tenets of the shariat gharra, his bandagi, namaz, roza, which he does for Allah ta'ala. As Khuda ta'ala has said in the Quraan, "wa ma khalaqtul jinna wal insa illa li ya'budun," I have not created spirits or humans, except that they worship me. Therefore, Mazoon Mola tus said, O mumineen, open your eyes of basirat, let the light of truth shine through. Develop your senses in the womb of this world by engraving the true aqida on your hearts, seeing the truth with your eyes of basirat, and living your life by what you see. If thus all your spiritual 'senses' are well developed, only when you go to jannat will you realize the full extent of what you have achieved, and the ne'mat Allah ta'ala has granted you. A mumin knows how important eyes are in this world. The eyes of basirat are much much and much more important.
What does a mumin see with his eyes of basirat, he does not see just another human being when he sees the Dai his Mola. Rather, he sees the nur of Imamuz Zaman, of panjatan, and he spontaneously bows his head to the ground in sajda. As Salman al-Farisi AS said to the person who wrongfully objected when he saw Salman performing sajda for Rasulullah, saying how is it right that you perform sajda for a creation of God. Salman, who was of great shaan and maqaam, immediately replied saying, I performed sajda for the light, the nur that I see in his forehead.
Syedna Abdut-Tayyib Zakiyuddin, the 41st Dai, was the Mazoon of Syedna Hebatullah al-Muayyad fid-din, the 40th Dai. In the era of Syedna al-Muayyad, la'in majdu' began his fitnat, and started turning mumineen away from the Dai and from haqq. Mazoon Mola tus said that such people exist in every day and age. Majdu' used to tell people that he has been in direct contact with the Imam and the Dai's position is not important any more, khuda ni la'nat Majdu' par. He spread much poison in the Malwa region including Ujjain where the Daiz-Zaman Syedna al-Muayyad was, and then was proceeding to the region of Nagar, where Syedna Zakiuddin was at the time in Jamnagar. Syedna al-Muayyad wrote a misaal, a letter to Syedna Zakiuddin saying that bhai, Majdu' is coming to your region, and he is very dangerous, he has done much fitnat here. Syedna Zakiuddin respectfully received the misaal of his Dai' and raised it high on his forehead before reading it. He then wrote in humble reply to Syedna al-Muayyad saying that O Mola, it is good that majdu' is coming here, for if he comes here, he will not leave here alive. And O Mola, we are such true followers of you that even if Imamuz-Zaman himself were to come to us and say that I am your Imam, we would humbly araz and say that O Mola, your Dai' is present among us, tell him, and when he shows us that this is your Imam, we shall bow down in humble sajda. Syedna al-Muayyad was so pleased by this reply of ikhlaas, that he wrote again to Syedna Zakiuddin saying that bhai, come here to Ujjain in our presence, and with your tasawwur of ikhlaas, do bayan and give hidayat to mumineen here, so that they may hold steadfastly to the daaman of their Dai and his mohabbat. Syedna Zakiuddin arrived in Ujjain and went first to do qadambosi. He went into the inside bethak of Syedna al-Muayyad, and when he emerged again outside among the mumineen, his expression was one of bewilderment, hayrat and bedazzlement. He said to them that when I went in to the Dai's presence I saw not only Syedna al-Muayyad, but I saw Muhammad, Ali, Fatema, Hasan, and Husain, panjatan paak, and I saw Tyeb Imam, in the peshani of our Mola, and in spontaneous reaction did sajda. Such was the Ikhlaas, tafaadi and sharpness of basirat of Syedna Zakiuddin, who after Syedna al-Muayyad, himself became Dai' al-Mutlaq. May Allah ta'ala give us the guidance to emulate even a very small part of that, even though Syedna Zakiuddin is Mola and we are ghulamo.
The mohabbat of a mumin is such that a deedar of his Mola is all he longs for. Rasulullah SLA has said that when death comes to a mumin he will be buried. On the day of qiyamat, he will be made to rise from his qabr, and will be brought in the almighty presence of Qaaim ala zikrihis salam. He will then be asked, O mumin, all the rest are in hisaab, and this is your day, you may ask for whatever you wish for, anything you want. The mumin, as only a mumin in his mohabbat would answer, will say, I ask for only one thing, that I may do deedar of my Nabi Mohammad. A mimbar will be put up and on it, Muhammad will appear, but he will not be alone, with him will be Ali amirul-mumineen. All mumineen will get the sharaf of their deedar. Their nur will be such that it will be emanating forth from the mimbar. As the mumineen get closer, they will also get washed by that nur, and will themselves become so roshan, that Hurul-'in will ask them in amazement when they go into jannat: where did you get such nur?
Throughout the bayan, Mazoon Mola tus gave mumineen priceless pearls of maw'ezat, sikhamand and wisdom. Just before shahadat bayan Mazoon Mola tus did this zikr. Amirul-mumineen said that Rasulullah SLA said six things:
Mazoon Mola tus also quoted and explained priceless and all-encompassing gems of maw'ezat and hidayat from waaz of Syedna Taher Saifuddin done on this same occasion of Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed urus many years ago. One of them we quote for barakat here is where he said: Become not a servant to this dunya, rather make this dunya your servant; so that you may serve Allah ta'ala his Imam and his Dai and Dawat, and the dunya may serve you.
The bayan of Mazoon Mola tus was like an endless stream of heavenly light flowing from up above, with the barakaat of Syedna al-Muayyad as-Shirazi and Syedna Taher Saifuddin, and the nazaraat of Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin tus. It inscribed, rather engraved line upon line upon line of haqq, hidayat and nur on the hearts and minds of all those who were fortunate enough to attend. It is just not possible for these written words to express even a tenth or a hundredth or even a thousandth of the 'ilm, the perfection, the fasahat, the balaghat, the immediate effect with which the Mazoon of our Dai and his Dawat delivered waaz. Because space is limited, and ability and strength is as nothing in comparison. I try to bring here a glimmer, a glimpse of that nurani bayan so that it may be as sawaab for our souls and barakat for all those who read it.
Shahadat bayan of Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed was in striking and heart trembling detail followed by mukhtasar shahadat of Syedus-Shohada Imam Husain, An Imam and his Dai both shaheed in sajda remembering mumineen with doa in the last breath. How could we ever ever forget them and the musibat which engulfed them. Mumineen with a lump in their throats and anguish in their hearts shed tears and tears and did matam of both Syedus-shohada and shaheedud-Doat Syedna Qutbuddin Shaheed.
In the moments of shahadat, in that time when all doas are heard, Mazoon Mola tus gave treasures of doa to mumineen, for every ummeed of deen and dunya life and aakherat, so much so that the hearts of all became lightened from the burden of the calamities and griefs that are a part of this world, and filled with the fortunes of 'ilm, ikhlaas, barakat, and hope - for life and the hereafter. As Amirul-mumineen has said that 'ilm is such a treasure that it will never wane. Rather it will give a mumin who keeps it in the safekeeping of his heart, and leads his life according to it, prosperity, true happiness, and glory in this world and the hereafter, jannatul-firdaws, jannatul-ma'wa.
No amount of shukr that we mumineen do would be enough, for our Aqa Mohammad Burhanuddin tus for giving us such a Mazoon, and for Mazoon Mola tus who is a pillar of ikhlaas and faith, who shows mumineen the way to the aakherat, to jannat: which is to steadfastly hold tight the daman of our Mola Syedna Mohammad Burhanuddin tus all our lives, in its ups and downs, its grief and its happiness, till the day that we breathe our last.
But our shortcoming in fulfilling even a small part of this shukr is obvious and apparent. What else can we do but raise our hands in doa to Allah ta'ala, that may He by vasila of panjatan, Aimmat, Imamuz-Zaman, and Doat, Syedna Taher Saifuddin, keep our Aqa Mola till the day of qiyamat always on the throne of health and prosperity, and his Mazoon, Syedi Khuzaima bhaisaheb Qutbuddin Saheb, and give him afzalul-jaza for showering us with such unending, ibdai' and nurani, barakat. And may He keep all mumineen in their saya of ne'mat, prosperous and happy always. Ameen. Wal Hamdo lillahi Rabbil-aalameen.
With Salaams
Abde-ali son of Syedi Mazoon Saheb tus
